Your Loved One’s Life Story, Thoughtfully Captured—With Expert Guidance from Start to Finish
LifeStory in a Box is a private, guided storytelling experience designed to preserve a loved one’s life story on video—beautifully, professionally, and at their pace.
Families often realize—sometimes suddenly—that stories can be lost if they aren’t captured.
They want more than:
• An unstructured video
• An interview that feels rushed or awkward
• A project that never gets finished
They want something:
• Thoughtful
• Comfortable for their loved one
• Professionally shaped
• Meaningful to watch and revisit

Your Guide: Mike O'Krent
In the late 1990s, I was honored to be trained to interview Holocaust survivors for Steven Spielberg’s Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation—an experience that taught me the deep responsibility that comes with capturing someone’s life story.
Since 2006, through my company LifeStories Alive, I have guided hundreds of families in recording the stories of parents, grandparents, and loved ones. Over the years, I’ve learned that meaningful life stories don’t come from scripts or cameras—they come from trust, patience, and genuine curiosity.
LifeStory in a Box is built on those principles. It brings my experience, my process, and my personal guidance directly to your family, so your loved one can share their story in a way that feels natural, comfortable, and deeply human.
It’s an honor to walk with you and your family through these conversations—and to help preserve stories that matter for generations to come.
Because some stories deserve to be captured—carefully, completely, and without waiting.
